| 2012-07-19 | Daniel | I wanted to offer myself some retreat time in Kalapana. Hale Lalala was all I was looking for and much more! The house is large, well-furbished, and very welcoming. I felt at home right away. The whole atmosphere is conducive for writing, resting, and r@r. I really enjoyed the Aqua-yoga classes held next door. I was also happy to have brought my bike, so I could go everywhere without my car: markets, beaches. So convenient! The Red road is one of best biking roads in Hawaii. But the real peak of my stay was a session of AQUA NIRVANA! Hard to find the words to describe this extraordinary journey. Dwight is a real master. One of the best massage treatments I had in my life! |
| 2012-03-12 | Jon Arterton | We had a wonderful stay at Hale Lalala! The house is very large and comfortable with a great kitchen that has a large deck attached - a perfect place to enjoy a sunny breakfast. You can pick oranges right off the tree. The rooms are spacious and the furnishings quite nice. The owner is friendly and very helpful. The location could not have been better. You have easy access to the main highway to Pahoa and Hilo, you're very near the amazing painted church and the black sand beach - and just down the road is Uncle Robert's where there's a convenience store and Friday night gatherings with native music, great food and a large, friendly crowd. There's an easy stroll that crosses the lava field and takes you right down to the ocean where the panoramic views are spectacular. This remote part of the island is not for everyone, but for those seeking escape from the world of condominiums, boutiques and modern hotels, Hale Lalala provides a perfect resting place to explore the real Hawaii. |

| 2011-11-14 | J. Schaibly -Smith | Hale Lalala is spacious, comfortable and has everything we could need! We loved walking on various lava flows to the ocean's edge. Loved the volcano! Enjoyed many beaches - black, green, and red sand! We loved the yard with exotic fruit trees and beautiful orchids and flowers. |
